Jacob Norris, a young and emerging
Central Oregon artist is free with his style and loose with his brush
while creating thoughtful and inspired original oils on board and
canvas. Mentored by Bend Oregon artist, Ken Roth, Jacob paints
primarily as a plein air painter and captures scenes of Central
Oregon and the city life of Bend Oregon. Jacob is represented by High Desert Gallery of Central Oregon.
Nathaniel Praska was interested in art at an early age and his aunt, a painting teacher, gave him his first formal painting lessons when he was in his teens. As a teenager he began spending time at a gallery in Bend Oregon where he met the artist Ken Roth, who would become his mentor. Ken Roth worked mainly on location, outdoors; the art of painting en plein aire. Nathaniel began working in this style and his work evolved. He began painting faster, attempting to capture more accurately the emotional intensity of an outdoor scene by using deliberate, unmediated brushstrokes. In recent years Nathaniel has had the opportunity to paint with, among others, Robert Moore and Eric Jacobsen. Nathaniel currently resides in Portland, Oregon where he enjoys painting the diverse beauty of this lush and colorful city.
Please take the time to visit the exhibition and sale, enjoy the art and make sure you chat with Jake and Nathaniel. They'll leave an impression that will linger and touch your soul. Enjoy!
