Oregon Spring break is nearing a completion so for our friends to the East, North and
South, Spring and Easter Breaks are things of
consideration and planning.
Spring in Central Oregon is not only fun and pleasant, it is a wonderful time to
visit Central Oregon. We will admit that we love September and the Fall
more but that has to do with all the activities in Sisters in September
including The Sisters Folk Festival, O Sisters, Where Art Thou? , The Sisters
Jazz Festival, and more. One thing is for sure -- You can't go Spring
skiing in September! Also Smith Rock is a great place to hike in early to late Spring.
Not only is Spring in Central Oregon a
great time it is the start of things "happening" - One happening is the Party of
the Year in Sisters! We have been fortunate to participate in the last few
"My Own Two Hands" art celebrations and have watched the event grow and prosper.
"My Own Two Hands," affectionately called MOTH is a fund raiser activity of the
Sisters Folk Festival with the beneficiaries being the Arts and Music programs
in the Sisters School District. For more information please visit:
sistersarts.org . The 2006 MOTH event is set for Friday, April 7 (Art Stroll &
Performance Evening) and Saturday, April 8 (Art Auction). If you can,
please support this great event. Last year the event raised more than
$85,000 for art and music in Sisters Schools. There are some great works
available for auction including work by many High Desert Gallery artists as well as great works by other Central Oregon Artists including Randy Redfield, Alma de la Melena Cox,
Dougal Haines, Sandra Melchiori, Deb Sether, John Simpkins, and many more.

Progress
over the
last three
months!
Just add Art!
With expansion also comes growth.
We've added two new employees to the High Desert Gallery Team. Along with
our veteran staff member, Carol (Mama D) in Sisters, we recently added Tamara and Sue to
our professional staff. Tamara's responsibilities are primarily Customer
Picture Framing design and creation. Currently she is working very closely
with Myrna Dow, Gallery Director and getting the lay of the land. Tamara
has been a great addition to the team and we welcome her! Sue will balance
her time between Redmond and Sisters and work with you our clients for both art
placement, consultation and framing design layout. Sue comes to us with a
wealth of artistic background and is a recent Fine Art graduate from Oregon
State. Plan on stopping by the gallery and introducing yourself to Carol,
Sue and Tamara. They are eager to serve you.
